Dear Parents and Guardians of WMS Eighth Grade Students:

We are pleased to announce our annual field trip to historic Philadelphia, PA for your eighth grade student.  This valuable learning experience is scheduled for Friday, May 1st, 2026.  Your child will learn more about this exciting academic and social field trip in school. This experience is scheduled to be a one-day trip, with buses departing prior to the start of the school day at approximately 6:30 AM and returning to WMS at roughly 10:00 pm.

 

On the day of the trip, students will enjoy a short walking tour of historic Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Groups will eat lunch at Reading Terminal Market and will continue on to the hands-on Benjamin Franklin Museum. Next, groups will go to the National Constitution Center and view a presentation called “Freedom Rising.” We will then visit the world-class Franklin Institute science museum.  The day ends with a photo-op on the famous “Rocky Steps” outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  Students will be provided dinner after the touring has completed at Maggiano’s Italian Restaurant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  WMS teachers and administrators will chaperone students on the trip.   

 

The tour will be conducted by WorldStrides Educational Student Travel, which is known for their exceptional service, 50 years of experience, safety record, and preventive measures that ensure learning occurs in a safe and fun environment. A WorldStrides-certified course leader will be assigned to each tour group.  The trip – including all activity tickets, motor coaches, a lunch stipend, and dinner - will cost $399.00. A deposit of $115 is required during registration to reserve your child’s spot on the trip. Families who may qualify for financial assistance should apply by contacting WorldStrides at 800-468-5899.  Payment plans are also offered so payments can be made in installments. Please note that in the event your child cannot attend the trip after being registered, refunds will only be issued by WorldStrides if the Full Refund Program is purchased.

 

Registration for the trip is currently open and will remain open until October 31, 2025.
