Dear Weston Middle School Families:

I hope you had the opportunity to see the Music Man, Jr performed this weekend by the talented members of Weston Middle School’s Short Wharf Theater Company.  The final performance is this afternoon at 3 pm.

We are now in our third quarter of classes.  Our second quarter grades will be posted by the middle of next week.  Mr. Walters will send out a separate email with a reminder of how to access your student grade report via the PowerSchool Parent Portal Portfolio (+) once the grades are finalized.

Please note that Monday, January 27, is the deadline for ordering the 2024-25 Weston Middle School Yearbook.  Please see details  below.

Reminder About Emergency Protocols and Student Cell Phone Use

Last week, as you may know, we experienced an incident where high school students were temporarily relocated to Weston Middle School as part of a safety and security precaution. Overall, our protocols worked as planned, and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding during this time.

However, we did notice that a few students used their phones to text or call parents during the situation. Please remember that student cell phones are required to remain locked in their Yondr pouches throughout the school day. In an emergency, it is crucial that all communication comes directly from the school to ensure accurate and consistent information is shared with families.

We kindly ask for your support in reminding your child about this policy and the importance of following it during any emergency situation. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and orderly environment for everyone.

Team T-Shirts  The online store is now open to order your child’s team T-shirt.  We encourage students to wear their team T-shirts (or team colors) on school field trips and for our Warrior Day field day in June.  Please make sure you order the correct color/team.  Please select your child’s 1st period/homeroom teacher from the list. If you need a reminder of your child’s team, here is a link to our team pages.  The teacher field seems to lag a little.  It may take 30 seconds or so before you see the drop down menu with the teachers’ names.  Please choose the “Pick up at school” option.  Students will pick up their T-shirts in the period 1/homeroom once they arrive.  The deadline to order is February 2.

Holocaust Remembrance Day

On Monday, January 27, we will have special grade level assemblies to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day.  We are grateful to Ms. Shawna Johnson, curriculum instructional leader for social studies 6-12, our social studies teachers and the Weston High School Jewish Student Union for their assistance in providing students with the historical context around the Holocaust and organizing the speakers and presentations for the day.  Here is the schedule for our grade level assemblies.
