CT Manufacturing Career's Roadshow
October 23, 2026
Dear WMS Families,
Weston High School is offering a field trip opportunity for interested seventh and eighth graders to the CT Manufacturing Careers Roadshow at the University of Bridgeport on Thursday, November 5th from 9am-12:30pm. This event offers students a peek into the wide range of manufacturing career opportunities. This event is designed to raise awareness of, and interest in, the broad career opportunities in Connecticut manufacturing. The event - a stop along the Manufacturing Roadshow '26 series - is designed to help Connecticut students understand these opportunities. Manufacturing isn't what it was a generation ago; it's lean, clean, and green, and driven by tech. There are over 4,000 manufacturers in CT, employing more than 160,000 workers. Highlights of the Road Show include:
- Hands-on activities with regional manufacturers
- Raffle prizes for scavenger hunt participants
- Virtual reality experience in robotics, safety, and manufacturing
- Mobile Training Lab from Goodwin University Advanced Manufacturing program
- Cobots from the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT)
- Regional Robotics teams demonstrating the intersection of STEM and manufacturing
The trip is free, and the high school will provide transportation to and from the University of Bridgeport. Please note too that there are a limited number of available spots for students to attend. Each spot will be first come. If you or your child is interested in attending, please email me at jasonbluestein@westonps.org
Sincerely,
Jason Bluestein
