NPFH Update
November 17, 2025
Dear Weston Middle School Parents and Caregivers,
I wanted to take a moment to update you on our ongoing work to address incidents of anti-semitism at Weston Middle School.
On Monday, November 3rd, the staff at WMS shared a video with students that I had filmed that includes very specific messaging about anti-semitism. Students were then invited to share their thoughts and feelings about my message - either through discussion or writing. I wanted to share that same video with you as a way to encourage ongoing conversation at home about the importance of being an upstander and treating everyone with respect, kindness, and acceptance. Your partnership reinforcing this message is important to our ongoing work and is greatly appreciated.
The video link is LOCATED HERE. Reflective questions that were used with students include:
-
What words or ideas stood out to you most from Mr. Bluestein’s message?
-
What are some real and meaningful ways we can show that our school is a place of kindness, respect, and inclusion and that we don’t tolerate anti-semitism or any hate based behavior?
-
How should we respond if we see or hear something that isn’t okay?
-
How do you think people feel when they see or hear hateful language or hateful symbols like swastikas?
This Wednesday, we are excited to embark on our first (of three) No Place for Hate activities for this school year. The focus will be on identity and how our identities uniquely define who we are and how we interact with the world around us. This activity will occur during students’ advisory Connect period, will be organized into multi-grade groups, and is an important step for us in continuing to build an inclusive and safe community at WMS for all students.
I look forward to updating you on this No Place for Hate activity as well as some new safety infrastructure upgrades after Thanksgiving break.
As always, we thank you for your support.
